A book by the name of “Who Moved My Cheese” was given to me by a good friend a couple years ago. The first time I saw it I chuckled at the title. But, it’s a book about adapting to change throughout life. I ran across the book recently and read it once more. So thankful I did, couldn’t have read it at a better time than the beginning of a New Year! It’s a book everyone can benefit from.

My grandpa is attending a funeral today for a beloved father of five killed in the line of duty last Thursday. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the two officers killed over pointless violence. It’s absolutely devastating to hear  this kind of news. Although I know stories like this happen everyday this one touched home base. Not only is Laplace, Louisiana my hometown where these officers were killed but my grandfather is a police officer as well. I’m aware of the fact these officers put on their game faces everyday and without any hesitation put their lives on the line. It isn’t until you hear of a story like this one, where officers are killed because a group of people that don’t respect law enforcement, that you actually realize one day they may not come home.

I truly appreciate these men and women putting their lives on the line for strangers. Anyone in the service I thank you for it.

This weekend was the definition of spontaneous! A girlfriend and I left Saturday morning for a ROAD TRIP to Houston. My first time in the big city! The four hour ride wasn’t too bad to be honest. We arrived around noon and got the party started soon after.

Our adventure started at the ‘Hotel Zaza‘ for a pool party. We had a nice little cabana to hang out in and the eye candy was everywhere.

I’m not sure if it was just the locations we were at or what but Houston has some pretty and fit people. It was definitely motivating to look around and see all the gym bodies!

Later that evening we ended up a nightclub called ‘Estate Lounge‘ for a little V.I.P treatment.

Sunday Funday is pretty popular in Houston from what we witnessed. We bar hopped all day Sunday. I met several new people and also ran into a few friends from Louisiana, how cool is thaaaaat?!

By the end of the day Sunday we were acting a little silly.

I’ve decided spontaneous trips are the BEST!

I feel like I should be singing “cake cake cake cake cake cake cake!” Haha

Wow, big 2-3 to me. It really feels like just yesterday I was so excited about turning 18 then it was 21 and now it’s 23. Everyone’s asking me how does it feel to be getting older but my response is “TWO MORE YEARS AND MY CAR INSURANCE GOES DOWN’!! The birthday’s stop then. LOL. We all wish right?

Na, I’m not scared to get old. The older the wiser right?

The amount of love I’m receiving today is AMAZING. I play it tough but I’m such a soft hearted woman and of course, a few happy tears have fallen. The support I receive with all my work, career choices and love on a daily basis has been such a blessing. I truly am a lucky girl.

Each day that passes I’m getting a step closer to my dreams. Well…

My dreams have already come true and I’m living them.

Thank you all for the birthday love. It’s the best feeling in the world!!

SoOoO I’ve picked a photo a day for the last two weeks for a little extra motivation for myself.  Today I decided to open up the Hooters bikini contest album. Here’s the picture I chose for today.

It’s funny to think when this photo was taken I thought to myself I needed to work on my stomach.

We all have something we want to work on and mine is my tummy. I enjoyed drinking one too many beers this last couple months and not enough time at the gym. This last three weeks I’ve been on a diet, started hitting the gym once a day and now I’m going twice. I’m determined to have a complete six pack.

Here’s the workout video I started with for my abs.

It’s fairly easy but do it twice a day and you’ll begin to see results.

Also, I’ve been running 2-3 miles a day. By the end of three miles my legs feel so heavy but the feeling of accomplishment is there and keeps me going back for more. I can really see how people become addicted to working out!!

I’m going Monday to sign up for some boxing classes. NOT TO COMPETE but to get in the best shape of my life. Learning a little self-defense at the same time isn’t such a bad idea either. I’m uber duber excited!! (Yes I said uber duber )

Your body is YOUR temple, take care of it. Not only does it help you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you look good!

Ladies & Gents,

Mardi Gras is O-V-E-R, it’s back to REALITY! I don’t know about you all but the end of February my little butt will be BUSY! I’ve got some upcoming shoots, auditions, interviews, and work at JAX.

Here’s my upcoming schedule so far.

February 26 – Audition for an upcoming reality show based on peoples lives training for competitions and shoots. *Wish me luck*  .. My dream is to be a Sportscaster on TV but I never was a fan of reality shows. This particular pitch caught my interest though. I’ll keep you guys updated on how things go.

February 27 – Photo shoot with Jonathan Warren for ‘Indigo boutique’. Last time I worked with Jonathan, we were working on the set of Final Destination 4. I’m super excited to get to work with a friend of mine again on a much different task. We’re shooting Indigo’s upcoming Spring/Summer line for a local magazine. Some more published work – woohoo!

Hiiii Friends!

It’s that time again for another blog! I don’t have a particular topic to talk about so I’ll give you the latest run down on what’s been going on in my life. Recently I began VIP waitressing for the night club I work at and so far it’s been a blast! We’ve got an amazing team working together, selling bottles of liquor isn’t the hardest job in the world and getting dressed to impress is one of my favorite parts about it. We do a lot of running around and butt kissing but at the end of the night it’s all worth it. Another advantage of working in the night life is socializing with different people. As a VIP waitress I’m meeting a lot of successful people and that’s always motivating. I preach to people all the time NETWORKING is priceless! (Remember that)

I’m JUST getting started on balancing myself and trying to get from one end of the room to another. I’ve got a new found of respect for the guys riding down the road much less doing tricks! LOL It’s tougher than I thought it’d be but I’m determined to keep trying. My goal is to hop on the board and ride it down the street without any hesitation. I’d also like to be able to learn a trick or two in the process! Wishful thinking  ....  I know!

Mardi Gras is quickly approaching for us Louisiana folks so I’m preparing to have a house full of friends! I’m very excited to have one of my best friends coming stay with me for a week. She’s come down several times and once for Mardi Gras but now we’re both over twenty-one. Mardi Gras is probably my most favorite time of the year because everyone is in a great mood, people from all over are visiting the city and it’s a party every day. How can you not be happy with all the festivities going on around you?!

I can’t forget to tell you guys about the shoot I had Wednesday! I can honestly say this ranks in my top three photo shoots I’ve ever done! The shoot was inspired by one of my most favorite models Audrey Hepburn. I never want to copy someone else’s work so I added my own twist to the inspired look. I shot in LEATHER tights, held on to a fat cigar and added in the Megan attitude. Each time I receive a new photo from our shoot I get more and more excited. This is MY artwork and I absolutely love it but more than that, I love the teamwork that’s put into a shoot. Most people don’t realize the hours an effort from a TEAM to get the RIGHT image! I’m truly blessed to have met so many people that share the same common interest as I do in this business. It’s more than a job to us it’s a passion!

MY MOTHER GOT A JOB!! I’m so very proud of her! She’s working in a field where she’ll get to use her creative side. She’s also working ten hour days which will keep her mind busy. Thanks again for everyones thoughts and prayers!

As most of yall know my mother started early with me so she’s a young mother of four. Growing up with my mother only fifteen years older than myself we had a very open, sisterly relationship more than a mother/daughter relationship. I’ve always respected her for bringing me into this world, her strength and her beauty. On the other hand, I’m sad to say she’s lives a life I know isn’t the way I want to live mine. My mother has always struggled with confidence, independency  and financial stress. She’s always learned the hard way but by her choice. She’s manipulated her way into situations, taken advantage of situations and bullied the people closest to her. After several past experiences it’s finally caught up to her. This last week has been one of the most rough weeks I can recall for my family and myself. My mothers relationship failing, her lack of financial support, and the stress of having a teenager has caused my mother to lose it. It’s been a constant build up of experiences, failure and heart ache to make her feel worthless and ready to give up. FINALLY she’s agreed to seek help! Monday was the start of a new chapter for her and my sisters. This last week I’ve really seen the meaning of family and love. It’s a beautiful thing to see the people in your life come together in a time of need and work together to make things right.

My point of sharing this story with you all is not only to answer the questions about my mom at once but also to let each one of you know life’s too precious to ever think about giving up. Life gets bad at times but that bad time WILL pass and before you know it you’ll be enjoying the good times life has to offer. You may think no one in the world cares but when times get tough you’ll be surprised to see the amount of people that do. You’ll also be surprised not see the people you THOUGHT cared. Keep your head high and never let anyone degrade you.

                                       Believe in yourself.
